Webhooks (send queue events to Zapier, Make or your own system)
Webhooks let NextUp send a real-time HTTP POST to a web address of your choice every time something happens in the queue. Use them to connect NextUp to Zapier, Make, your CRM, Google Sheets, Slack or any custom system.
- Open Integrations in the dashboard sidebar.
- Click Add a webhook.
- Enter a label (so you remember what it does) and the destination URL, such as your app's endpoint or Zapier's webhook URL.
- Choose which events to send.
- Click Add webhook.
Available events: visit joined, visit called, visit served (done), visit no-showed, visit removed, and line opened or closed. Each webhook can send a test event and shows a delivery history with the HTTP status code; if a delivery failed you can see the error and retry it. Payloads are signed with a secret (an HMAC signature in the NextUp-Signature header) so your server can check they came from NextUp, and you can rotate the secret.
API keys (programmatic access for developers)
API keys give a developer long-lived access to your NextUp account, for things like custom dashboards, automated reporting, or an integration that webhooks alone can't cover.
- Open API Keys in the dashboard sidebar.
- Click New key and give it a name that says what it's for (for example "Analytics export").
- Copy the key immediately. It is shown in full only once. Store it somewhere safe, like a password manager or your server's environment settings.
Send the key as a Bearer token in the Authorization header of your requests. API keys have the same permissions as an owner, so treat them like a password and never put them in website code or share them. To revoke a key, delete it; any app using it stops working immediately, so create and switch to a new key first.
Google Calendar sync for team members
Each team member can connect their Google Calendar. Personal events on their calendar then close those times for bookings, and their NextUp appointments appear on their calendar. This is set per person, so one person connecting their calendar doesn't affect anyone else. It works alongside their weekly hours and blocked time in NextUp.
To connect, open the team member's profile from the Staff page (or the team member can do it from their own sign-in) and follow the Google sign-in prompt to allow access to their calendar. Customers booking online then only see times when that person is actually free.
Sign in with Google or Apple
Owners and managers can sign in with an email and password, an emailed sign-in code or link (no password needed), Google, or Apple. If you signed up with Google and want a password too, you can set one on your Account page without removing Google sign-in. Two-factor authentication, if you turn it on, applies to every sign-in method.
Emailed sign-in codes last 15 minutes. An emailed sign-in link only works when you press Continue on the page it opens, so an email security scanner can't use it up.
NextUp does not offer single sign-on (SAML or OpenID Connect) or SCIM user provisioning.
