Before NextUp Walk-in was what it is today, one barber in Jacksonville, North Carolina, looked at the paper clipboard on his counter and said: there has to be a better way. Then he saw where it could go, put it to work in his shop, and has vouched for it ever since.

The man behind the chair

Barber. Owner. The name other barbers bring up.

Trinidad Corrales doesn't just cut hair. He built a name. Since 2015 he has grown Fade Factor into a Jacksonville barbershop with two locations, a crew of award-winning barbers, and customers who won't sit in anyone else's chair.

Behind the chair he is a master of the craft: the classic cut, the sharpest modern fade, the straight razor line-up done right. Behind the business he is something rarer, a barber who thinks like an owner. He runs two shops, leads a team, and sees what others miss, which is why he was the first to back NextUp Walk-in.

Barber, entrepreneur and businessman, Trinidad has one standard: make every customer a customer for life.

01

The clipboard had to go.

Every busy shop knows the clipboard: names scribbled in a hurry, a customer who says he was here first, a guy who gives up and walks out. Trinidad has run that line for years at two locations. He knew it cost chairs, time and customers.

02

He tried the rest.

He tried other booking apps. In his experience they weren't built for how a barbershop really runs: a door that never stops opening, walk-ins mixed in with appointments, a crew that needs to see the line at a glance. He wanted something made for the chair.

03

He said yes from day one.

When NextUp Walk-in was still taking shape, Trinidad saw the value and believed in it. He didn't wait for it to be finished or popular. He put it to work when it mattered most. That is what makes him the Founding Barber.

04

And he keeps pushing.

He's been a fierce advocate, from telling other barbers what works to pushing the product to get better. A shop owner who tells the truth about the tool he uses every day is worth more than any ad.
