Cookies and browser storage
Last updated October 5, 2026
NextUp uses no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. The only cookies it sets keep you signed in, so there's no cookie banner to click through. Our analytics (Plausible) is cookie-free and collects no personal data.

Browser storage
A few things are kept in your browser's own storage on your device, not in cookies. They stay on your device and are read only by NextUp's pages.
Your place in line
- What it's for
- Lets your phone find your spot again if you close the page, and remembers the details you typed for a quicker check-in next time.
- How long
- Until the visit ends, or until you clear it
My Places
- What it's for
- The businesses you chose to keep, so you can rejoin their lines quickly.
- How long
- Until you remove them
Ad click details
- What it's for
- If you came from one of our ads: the ad’s click ID and campaign tags, sent once when you create a business (see the Privacy Policy).
- How long
- 90 days
Screen preferences
- What it's for
- Settings for this device, such as the TV’s sound, the business you last opened, and the app lock.
- How long
- Until you change or clear them
Your choices
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser's settings at any time. Clearing them signs you out and forgets your saved places on that device; nothing else changes. Blocking cookies entirely stops you from signing in to a business account, but you can still join a line.
