What's new
What we've shipped, newest first. Every item here is live for every NextUp account today.
A public Help Center and a sharper TV
- Help Center, open to everyone. Every how-to guide is now on the website at /help, searchable without signing in.
- Your name on the TV without a logo. A location with no logo now shows its name in a glass pill at the top of the waiting-room display, so the screen always says whose line it is.
A real appointment calendar, a setup wizard and payroll files
- Day and week calendar, drag to move. See everyone’s bookings by day or week and drag one to another time, day or person. Opening hours, blocked time and double bookings are checked as you go, and the customer gets an email with the new time.
- Book from the calendar, on any screen. Tap an empty time to add a booking or block time. On a phone the calendar shows one person at a time. Team members who sign in get My calendar with just their own bookings.
- Group bookings. A customer can book for themselves and up to four guests at once, one after another or at the same time.
- Blocked time that repeats. Block a lunch or a standing meeting every week, and bookings for “anyone” respect each person’s blocks.
- Booking stays open when the line is closed. Customers can still book an appointment while the walk-in line is closed for the day.
- Calendar links. Subscribe to a location’s bookings, or your own, in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook.com or Microsoft 365. Any booking can also be added to your calendar on its own.
- More webhook events. Webhooks now report bookings made, cancelled, moved and checked in, and no-shows, with what changed.
- Setup wizard. New businesses are walked through hours, team, services, how the line runs, branding and screens in nine steps, each saving to the real settings. Reopen it any time from Settings.
- Merge duplicate clients. Profiles that share a name, email or outside ID are flagged, and owners and managers can merge them, keeping visits, appointments, loyalty and notes together.
- Time clock. Hours come from each person’s On duty switch, with a summary email.
- Cash tips on each person’s book. Record a cash tip on the visit, and it carries into that person’s payroll totals.
- Payroll export for Gusto, ADP and QuickBooks. Each pay period’s hours and commission in a file your payroll service imports, plus a spreadsheet.
- Notification settings in the bell. Choose which alerts you get right from the notifications bell, without leaving the page.
- A live demo line and product videos. Join our demo line from your phone and watch its TV update, or watch the walkthrough at /watch.
Notifications, forms and records
- Notifications bell. Someone joining, being called or not showing, bookings made, moved or cancelled, and new reviews, in one bell in the dashboard. Each person picks what they hear about.
- Consent forms, health records and loyalty, end to end. Customers sign your consent and waiver forms, records like vaccinations keep their due dates, and loyalty stamps are counted on every visit.
- Stays up to date after we ship. An open dashboard or screen picks up a new release by itself instead of showing an error.
Security and location insights
- Stronger account protection. Five wrong passwords or two-factor codes lock an account for 30 minutes, every attempt is logged, and security logs are kept for three years.
- Numbers for each location. Live tiles on the Locations page: who’s waiting now, the wait a walk-in would be quoted, served today against the same day last week, and staff on duty.
- Get found online. Your booking link and a QR code to download, with how to add them to Instagram and your Google Business Profile.
Google Calendar and flash sales
- Google Calendar for each team member. Appointments appear on their Google Calendar, and their own events close those times for booking.
- Flash sales. A lower price on chosen services on your booking page, only during the window you set.
Exports, activity and staff photos
- Excel exports. Exports come as formatted Excel workbooks as well as CSV, with clear file names.
- Activity for managers. Managers can see the activity log, and owners decide whether managers may download exports (off by default).
- Staff update their own photos. Team members change their own photo from the staff screen.
