Can I have multiple locations?

Yes. Add as many locations as you need from the Locations page. Each location has its own line, its own screens (staff screen, TV, door tablet, status page), its own QR code, its own staff PIN and its own settings and hours. Branding and your services catalog are shared across the business, and you can turn services on or off and override prices per location.

Additional locations are billed at your plan's additional location rate (19 dollars a month on Essential) and prorated for the rest of your billing cycle. For 10 or more locations, email support@nextupwalkin.com about volume pricing.

Owners and managers see every location in one dashboard, and Insights can show one location or all of them together.

Does NextUp work without internet?

No. NextUp needs an internet connection: the line syncs live across the staff screen, TV, door tablet and customers' phones. A stable Wi-Fi connection at your location is strongly recommended, and a wired Ethernet connection for the TV device where you can.

If the connection drops, screens show the last known state until it comes back, and catch up on their own once it does. Customers' phones use their own mobile data, so they can still check their place even if your shop's Wi-Fi is down, but your staff screen needs a connection to call people. Keep a fallback, such as a paper list, for an internet outage.

Can I use NextUp on a phone?

Yes. The staff screen, the TV display and the door tablet all work on phones and tablets, and the dashboard is mobile-friendly too. Everything runs in a web browser on any phone, tablet or computer, so there's nothing to install. For the best staff experience, a tablet at the front desk is recommended. On an iPhone or iPad, add the staff screen to your Home Screen for a full-screen, app-like experience. A spare tablet in landscape can even serve as a small TV display, and any iPad or Android tablet works as the door tablet.

Is my data backed up?

Yes. The NextUp database is backed up every night, encrypted, and stored off-server. Historical visit data is kept for about 13 months so you can review it in Insights, and you can export every individual visit to an Excel spreadsheet from the Insights page with the Excel button.

Backups are a safety net for the whole service, not a self-serve restore button. Things you delete yourself, such as a location or the whole business, can't be undone from the dashboard, so download what you want to keep first. Deleted data can remain in backups for a limited time before they are cleared.

What if a customer doesn't respond when called? (no-shows)

First, staff can tap "Ask if they're coming" on the staff screen. The customer's phone asks "Are you still coming?" and they can answer 2, 5 or 10 minutes away, or that they can't make it; the answer shows on their row. Staff can ask again after two minutes, and "Call again" re-announces them after a short cooldown.

If they still don't come up, staff mark them as a no-show. They are removed from the line and the next party can be called. No-shows are counted in Insights, and a client's no-shows lower their reliability tier on the Clients page. For appointments, no-show protection lets you require a card or deposit at booking.

How many staff accounts do we get? Are there per-seat fees?

As many as you need. There are no per-seat fees: owners and managers are included at no extra cost, at every location. Invite them from the Admins page. Each location also has one shared staff PIN for the front-desk staff screen, and each team member on your Staff page can have their own email sign-in for their own book, clients, pay and schedule. Your price depends only on the number of locations, not the number of people. A location can have up to 40 team members on its roster.

How long does setup take?

About two minutes for your first location: add your business, print or display your QR code, and you can start taking check-ins right away. The setup wizard then walks you through hours, team, services, how the line runs, branding, payments, screens and a test visit, each with sensible defaults for your type of business. You can stop and come back any time; it resumes where you left off, and a "Finish setting up" card on the dashboard shows what's left. Hardware is optional at the start: any phone or computer can run the staff screen, and you can add a TV and door tablet later.

Is there a NextUp app for my team or for Apple TV?

Everything in NextUp runs in a web browser on any phone, tablet or computer, so your team doesn't need an app: open the staff screen or dashboard in the browser and add it to your Home Screen. Customers never need an app.

For the waiting-room TV, the NextUp app for Apple TV shows your display without a browser and pairs with a short code. On other TVs, use the browser on a streaming stick. Check the download page for which NextUp mobile apps are available.
