Free barbershop sign-in sheet template

A sign-in sheet made for a barbershop: first name, time in, which barber they want, and tick boxes for a cut, fade, beard, lineup or kids cut. Add your shop name, print it, and put it on the clipboard. No email or sign-up.

A link where customers can join from their phone. The sheet prints it as a QR code with "Skip the clipboard". Leave it empty for paper only.

What the columns are for

The barber column is the one most shops add by hand. Customers who wait for one barber are the reason a "next" list goes wrong: the person at the top may be waiting for someone who is booked for the next hour. Write "any" for first available.

The service boxes let the barber see the next hour before calling anyone. Two beard trims and a lineup clear faster than three fades, and that changes what you tell the person walking in.

When the clipboard stops working

Paper works while the lobby is small. It stops when people look at a full room and leave without signing, when customers wait for one person, or when someone asks "how long?" and nobody knows. A sheet records arrivals. It can't show a wait, and it can't tell anyone it's their turn.

NextUp is the same list on a phone. Customers scan a code at the door, see their place and wait, and get a text when they're up. A TV in the lobby shows who's next. It's $29 a month per location with a 14-day free trial. More in Replace your paper sign-in sheet and Google Forms vs a real waitlist.

Common questions

Why is there no phone number column?

A sign-in sheet sits on the counter where every customer can read it. A column of names and phone numbers is a list anyone can photograph. If you want to text people when it is their turn, take the number somewhere private, such as a phone check-in page that only the shop can see.

How do I keep the line fair when people ask for one barber?

Call in sign-in order for each barber, and let anyone who wrote "any" take the first chair that opens. Ticking "Done" as each person sits keeps the next name easy to find.

Can I add my own services?

The printed boxes cover the common ones. Write anything else next to them, or use the general walk-in sheet, which has an open "Here for" column instead of boxes.
