Google Business Profile for a walk-in shop: the setup that actually helps

Most walk-in customers find a shop on Google Maps standing outside or sitting in a car. Your profile is the front door. Here is what to fill in, where a join link goes, and what to leave alone, without any promise about ranking, because Google decides that.

Start with what is true

Use the name on your sign, the street address customers will find, your phone and your real hours, including holiday hours. Pick the category that is most exact and add a few that really apply. A wrong closing time costs you more customers than any missing feature.

Put your join link on it

The Get Found Online page in the dashboard has guidance for your profile and the link to copy. Paste it into the website or appointment link field. People who find you on Search or Maps can check the wait and join before they leave home. It is a link, not Book on Google, which is not switched on. Set your Google Place ID in Location settings to link the location to your profile for reviews.

The link is tagged so Get Found Online counts the bookings it brings in. See the QR code check-in guide for the door.

Ask every customer for a review

After a visit, a customer can leave a private 1 to 5 star rating, and everyone who rates sees your Google link. No star gating, no discounts for reviews. The setup is in how to get more Google reviews from walk-ins. Reply to the new ones in your own words.

Photos, and a site that matches

Add real photos of the shop, the work and the entrance, so a customer recognizes the door. Your website should say the same thing as your profile. The website builder reads hours and services from your account and gives each page its own search title and description, so there is one place to change a price or an hour.

A five-minute monthly check

Check hours, the link, new reviews and photos once a month. Search for your shop on a phone and see what a customer sees. Then look at the next layer: how AI answer engines find a local shop.

Questions

Can customers book on Google with NextUp Walk-in?

Not through Book on Google, which is not switched on. Add your NextUp Walk-in link to your profile’s appointment or website field.

Will adding the link rank me higher?

We make no ranking claim. It lets customers check the wait and join from your listing.
