Running a no-appointment chiropractic clinic: the line, the intake and the regulars
A no-appointment clinic lives and dies by the lunch-hour and after-work rushes, with patients who only have twenty minutes and a lobby that should feel calm. The pieces that help are a live line patients can join from the office, new-patient intake signed before they reach the desk, and a simple plan for the regulars. Here is how to set them up.
Let patients wait anywhere
Patients join from your QR code, a link or the front-desk tablet. They see their place live on their phone, so a lunch-break adjustment can fit a lunch break: a patient who sees a 15-minute wait at 12:05 leaves the office at 12:15. When a doctor is ready, one tap on Bring back sends “Head on back. The doctor will be right with you.” to their phone.
Count each visit for its own time
The starter menu has an adjustment, a new-patient visit, an adjustment plus therapy, a re-check and a kids adjustment, with e-stim, ice or heat, soft tissue and kinesio taping as add-ons. A new-patient visit and a quick adjustment count for different times, so the estimate stays honest. Patients can pick their doctor or “Anyone”, and see each doctor’s wait.
Intake and consent before the desk
The chiropractic starter form asks what brings them in, where it hurts, car accident or work injury, osteoporosis, blood thinners, surgery or pregnancy, and the consent to an exam and adjustment. It is signed on the patient’s phone, filed on their profile and can be asked again once a year. No clipboard, and the first minutes in the room go to the patient.
NextUp Walk-in files the form; it is not a medical-records system, and it sits beside the EHR you already use.
Plans and packs for regulars
On the Pro plan, a monthly plan can include adjustments and a member discount, and a visit pack such as “10 adjustments” is prepaid with the uses tracked. Online sign-up and billing for plans come with card payments, which are coming soon. Members are found by phone at check-in. The memberships and packages guide goes through designing one.
Keep patients from drifting away
Rebooking reminder emails, a retention report of active against lapsed patients, and ratings with your Google review link all help after the first month. Insights show your busiest hours so you can staff the two rushes. For the general approach, read how to reduce walk-in wait times.
