Switch from Waitwhile to NextUp Walk-in

Moving customers from Waitwhile. Its help center describes a CSV export of customers and visits.

SWITCH: Your first month is free with the code SWITCH when you subscribe on monthly billing, and we will help you import your client list. The 14-day free trial comes first and has every Pro feature.

1. Export your clients from Waitwhile

  1. Waitwhile’s help center says the export is on its Business and Enterprise plans, so check your plan first.
  2. On the Customers page, open the three-dot menu and choose Export.
  3. Choose Unique customers (one record per person, which is what you want here) rather than All visits (one record per time someone joined or booked).
  4. Narrow it by location or date range if you want, then download the CSV.

2. Import them into NextUp Walk-in

  1. In your NextUp Walk-in dashboard, open Clients, then Import clients. Only the owner can import.
  2. Drop the file in as it is (Excel, CSV or vCard). You do not need to rename or reorder columns: NextUp Walk-in matches them, and you can change any match.
  3. Check the preview. Every row shows whether it is new, an update, unchanged or an error, and nothing is saved until you confirm.
  4. Confirm. The import is kept under Past imports, with a report you can download.

Clients you bring in with Import clients are records for your team. NextUp Walk-in doesn’t text them or add them to email campaigns or rebooking emails; a client gets those after agreeing at check-in. Emailing a past client list is a separate, one-time step on the Pro plan (Email Marketing), where each client is first welcomed with an unsubscribe link.

3. Bring your services

  1. We did not find a services export on Waitwhile’s help pages. Copy your service names, lengths and prices from your Waitwhile services into the NextUp Walk-in template below.
  2. Open Catalog, then Import a spreadsheet, and download the blank template (the columns and three example rows).
  3. Copy your services into it: name, length and price. An import can have up to 1,000 rows and 1 MB.
  4. Upload it and check the preview of every row. Nothing is saved until you confirm.

What is different

  • We pay for your first 500 texts a month, plus 250 for each extra location, shared by all your locations; texts after that are $0.03 each (texting switches on soon, Early Access; until then customers follow their place live on their phone).
  • A now-serving TV display and a door tablet for customers without a phone are part of the app.
  • There is no free plan: a 14-day free trial with every Pro feature. See the comparison page for prices side by side.
