Switch from Vagaro to NextUp Walk-in
Moving a client list from Vagaro. Vagaro’s Customer List report exports to Excel or PDF, for the business owner.
SWITCH: Your first month is free with the code SWITCH when you subscribe on monthly billing, and we will help you import your client list. The 14-day free trial comes first and has every Pro feature.
1. Export your clients from Vagaro
- Vagaro’s help center says only the business owner can export the customer list, so sign in as the owner.
- Open the Customer List report (under Reports, Customers). Any filters you apply also decide what is exported, so clear them to get everyone.
- On a computer, tablet or Pay Desk use the Export button at the bottom of the report and choose Excel. On a phone it is in the report’s action menu.
- Vagaro’s page notes the menu path can differ between versions, so follow the labels on your screen.
Vagaro Support: Export Your Customer ListChecked on . Their pages change, so follow the labels on your screen.
2. Import them into NextUp Walk-in
- In your NextUp Walk-in dashboard, open Clients, then Import clients. Only the owner can import.
- Drop the file in as it is (Excel, CSV or vCard). You do not need to rename or reorder columns: NextUp Walk-in matches them, and you can change any match.
- Check the preview. Every row shows whether it is new, an update, unchanged or an error, and nothing is saved until you confirm.
- Confirm. The import is kept under Past imports, with a report you can download.
Clients you bring in with Import clients are records for your team. NextUp Walk-in doesn’t text them or add them to email campaigns or rebooking emails; a client gets those after agreeing at check-in. Emailing a past client list is a separate, one-time step on the Pro plan (Email Marketing), where each client is first welcomed with an unsubscribe link.
3. Bring your services
- We did not find a services export on Vagaro’s help pages. Copy your service names, lengths and prices from your Vagaro services list into the NextUp Walk-in template below.
- Open Catalog, then Import a spreadsheet, and download the blank template (the columns and three example rows).
- Copy your services into it: name, length and price. An import can have up to 1,000 rows and 1 MB.
- Upload it and check the preview of every row. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
What is different
- One staff PIN per location for the shared floor screen, and an email sign-in for each team member who wants their own book, clients and pay.
- 3 team members are included per location on Walk-in and Pro, then $10 a month each, counted across all your locations.
- Customers join the line from their phone with no app or account, and watch their place live.
