Questions About Venmo
Can customers pay me with Venmo through NextUp Walk-in?
No. They pay your Venmo account themselves, and your team records on the bill that it was paid. NextUp Walk-in doesn’t move the money.
Does NextUp Walk-in charge a fee on Venmo?
No. It isn’t a card payment, so NextUp Walk-in’s card fee doesn’t apply. Any fee Venmo charges you is between you and Venmo.
How do I turn on Venmo?
An owner switches it on for the business on the Payment methods screen of the dashboard. It is off until they do.
Is Venmo counted as cash at close-out?
No. It stays out of the cash drawer and the cash count, and has its own line in the end-of-day totals.
How do refunds work?
NextUp Walk-in records the refund; it doesn’t send it. Your team pays the customer back in Venmo, then records it on the bill.
Payments are processed by Stripe on your own Stripe account; NextUp Walk-in never holds your money. NextUp Walk-in’s card fee is 0.5% of card payments, never on tips, at most $1 a payment, on top of Stripe’s processing fee.
