Questions About Stablecoin (USDC)
Is stablecoin on by default?
No. An owner switches it on, with its own switch, in the dashboard. Until then, customers see the card and the other methods you have on.
Do I get paid in crypto?
No. The customer pays in USDC from their wallet, and your business is paid in US dollars.
Can a stablecoin payment be disputed?
No. A refund is still possible, and it goes back to the customer’s wallet as stablecoin.
Why don’t I see stablecoin on my pay pages?
Either it is still off, or Stripe hasn’t approved it for your business. It isn’t available to businesses in New York. The Payment methods table shows which.
What does it cost?
Stripe sets its own fee for stablecoin payments. See Stripe’s pricing page (https://stripe.com/pricing/local-payment-methods).
Does stablecoin work on the card reader?
No. It is offered on Stripe’s secure page for a pay link, QR code, booking deposit or online gift card.
Payments are processed by Stripe on your own Stripe account; NextUp Walk-in never holds your money. NextUp Walk-in’s card fee is 0.5% of card payments, never on tips, at most $1 a payment, on top of Stripe’s processing fee.
