The live line
Customers join by QR code, link or the Door Tablet, watch their place and wait, and the TV Display shows who’s next.
NextUp Walk-in runs the front desk for service businesses: a live line customers join from their phone, appointments on the same schedule, client records, checkout, your team's pay, marketing, and the numbers that tie it together. No clipboard at the door, and no stack of tools that don't talk to each other.

Founder, NextUp Walk-in
The work was excellent. The wait was the problem.
A software engineer for 20 years, Nicholas builds systems that can't afford to break. He started NextUp Walk-in after watching busy shops run their walk-in line on a clipboard and a guess, with no way to quote a wait and no way to stop people leaving when they saw a full room.
Today it is one system for the line, appointments, clients, checkout, team pay and marketing, shaped with the owners who use it. He also writes the guides on the NextUp Walk-in blog.
Our Founding Barber

We have a lot of barbers in the shop, and with a paper clipboard nobody could keep track of who was next or how long the wait really was. People would walk in, see the clipboard and a room full of people, and a lot of them, parents with kids especially, would figure it was going to take forever and walk right back out. And when someone asked a barber how long it would be, that barber often didn't know, so we'd give the wrong answer and lose them anyway. Now they check in on the kiosk, look up at the TV, or scan the QR code on our front window before they even walk in. Everybody can see where they stand. It finally feels like a modern shop.

Online booking by service and team member, recurring visits, reminders, and deposits or a card on file for no-shows.
Every client’s visit history, notes, formulas and preferred team member, built up automatically as they come in.
Close out a visit in cash or with a pay link the customer pays on their phone. Tips and commission are tracked for your team, and booth rent collects itself.
Each person’s own sign-in, schedule and earnings, a time clock, tip pools, and payroll files for Gusto, ADP and QuickBooks.
Email campaigns, loyalty, gift cards, memberships and review requests, with insights on waits, busy hours and the team.
A few promises that shape every screen.
Customers scan a code or tap a link and join in their phone’s browser with a first and last name. An email confirmation or a photo for the team are there if they want them, and a text when it’s their turn switches on soon, once carrier verification finishes. Regulars can also keep their shops in the NextUp app.
Bookings and walk-ins share one live line, so the wait stays honest and nobody is double-booked. Start with walk-ins and add appointments when you want them.
Start free for one location, one team member and 50 check-ins a month.
