# Switch from Squire to NextUp Walk-in

Moving from Squire. We did not find a self-serve export on its public pages, so the first step is a request.

**SWITCH:** Enter the code SWITCH on the checkout page where you add your card, on monthly billing, and your first paid month is free. Import your client list yourself in a few minutes: you see every row before it saves, and you can undo it for 7 days. The 14-day free trial comes first and has every Pro feature, so enter the code when you add your card to start it. Prefer no card? Start on Free: 1 location, 1 team member and 50 check-ins a month.

## 1. Export your clients from Squire

- We did not find step-by-step instructions for exporting your client list on Squire’s public pages. Ask Squire support, or your onboarding contact, for your client list as a spreadsheet and which fields it includes.
- Squire’s shop agreement says that if you give 30 days’ notice before ending your agreement, it will make commercially reasonable efforts to help you get your client data for up to 30 days afterwards, so ask before you cancel.

[Squire: Shop User License Agreement](https://getsquire.com/legal/shop-user-license-agreement)Checked on 2026-10-24. Their pages change, so follow the labels on your screen.

## 2. Import them into NextUp Walk-in

- In your NextUp Walk-in dashboard, open Clients, then Import clients. Only the owner can import.
- Drop the file in as it is (Excel, CSV or vCard). You do not need to rename or reorder columns: NextUp Walk-in matches them, and you can change any match.
- Check the preview. Every row shows whether it is new, an update, unchanged or an error, and nothing is saved until you confirm.
- Confirm. The import is kept under Past imports, with a report you can download.

Clients you bring in with Import clients are records for your team. NextUp Walk-in doesn’t text them or add them to email campaigns or rebooking emails; a client gets those after agreeing at check-in. Emailing a past client list is a separate, one-time step on the Pro plan (Email Marketing), where each client is first welcomed with an unsubscribe link.

## 3. Bring your services

- We did not find a services export on Squire’s public pages. Copy your service names, lengths and prices into the NextUp Walk-in template below, or ask Squire support for the list.
- Open Catalog, then Import a spreadsheet, and download the blank template (the columns and three example rows).
- Copy your services into it: name, length and price. An import can have up to 1,000 rows and 1 MB.
- Upload it and check the preview of every row. Nothing is saved until you confirm.

## What Switch from another app brings over

In your dashboard, open Clients, then Switch from another app, and pick Squire.

- Clients: names, phones and emails, matched so nobody is added twice.
- Services: names, lengths and prices, checked row by row before anything is saved.
- Team members, added to the location you choose.
- Gift card balances, as gift cards with the balance left on each.
- Store credit balances, as credit on the matching client.
- Packages, with the sessions each client has left. Any package you don't have yet can be created as you import.
- Memberships on the Pro plan, with the visits left and the renewal day. Nothing is charged, and members renew by hand or sign up again here.

### What it does not bring

- Card numbers, saved cards and the history of old payments. Other prepaid value you want to honor can be entered as store credit.
- Text or email consent: imported clients are not texted or added to campaigns until they agree at check-in.
- Anything the old app has no export for. Where that is so, you type a short list into the NextUp Walk-in template.

Only the owner can import. A dry run shows what will happen first, nothing is sent to anyone, and gift cards, store credit and team members can be undone for 7 days (a gift card or credit already used is kept). The column matching for each app is our best reading of its export, so you check and can change every match.

## What is different

- NextUp Walk-in is built around the walk-in line: a live line, a TV Display for the waiting area and a Door Tablet. Appointments and online booking are on the Pro plan.
- Walk-in and Pro include 3 team members per location, then $10 a month each.
- Plans are priced per location, and you can see the details on the pricing page.

## Questions

### Will you load my clients for me?

Import your client list yourself in a few minutes. You see every row before it saves, and you can undo it for 7 days. Questions? Email us. The SWITCH code gives a free first month on monthly billing.

## Security and Reliability

### What happens if the internet goes down?

The Staff Screen keeps working on the device it is open on. Calling, seating, finishing and no-showing a customer, adding a walk-in, and taking a visit’s whole bill in cash are saved on that device, shown as waiting to send, and sent in order when the connection returns. The Door Tablet keeps checking people in the same way. If someone else changed the same visit in the meantime, that tap is not sent and your team is told which one and why. Card payments, refunds and the rest of checkout need a connection.

### Can I export my data?

Yes. The owner can ask for “Download all your data” on the Team page: one zip with your clients, services, team, visits, appointments, payments summary, gift cards and store credit, as spreadsheets and JSON. It leaves out photos, sign-in secrets, Stripe ids and your team’s bank and pay setup. Insights also downloads every visit and your summary numbers to Excel or CSV, and your catalog, activity, payout and payroll files download from their own pages.

### What if text alerts are not on?

Text alerts switch on soon, once carrier verification finishes. Until then customers follow their place live on their phone, and the TV Display and Door Tablet show who is up next. Emails still go out where they are used, such as appointment confirmations on Pro. Nothing in the line depends on a text.

### How is my data protected?

Everything is encrypted in transit, each business’s data is kept apart from every other business, and the database is backed up every 6 hours, encrypted and stored off-server. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe.

### What if the service has a problem?

Live status is public at status.nextupwalkin.com, and the Terms of Service set out the uptime target and the credit if it is missed.
