- One file for your provider
- Rent weekly, every two weeks or monthly
- Checked before you run payroll
- Cash tips and advances included

## One file for your payroll provider

Each pay period’s hours, commission and tips for every person, prepared for you to import. Your provider runs payroll and taxes.

- **Your provider, picked once.**Gusto, RUN Powered by ADP, ADP Workforce Now, QuickBooks Payroll, or another.
- **Hours, commission and tips.**Hours from the time clock, commission from your rates, and the tips paid through NextUp Walk-in.
- **Tiered commission comes out right.**When a period’s total reaches a higher tier, the file pays the difference, so each person ends up with exactly their tiered commission.
- **Three ways to download.**The provider’s import file, a plain spreadsheet, or an Excel summary with hours by day.

Example: the Payroll page for the last two weeks.

## Checked before you run it

The Payroll page looks for the things that go wrong, so you fix them before the file goes to your provider.

- **A time clock you already use.**The On duty switch records each shift. A shift left on past closing ends at closing and is flagged for you to check.
- **Problems listed first.**Missing codes or IDs, open shifts, shifts to check, tips not sent yet, and people who left.
- **Cash tips count too.**Each person records cash tips on their book, so they land in payroll and on their statement with everything else.
- **Cash advances.**Paid back all at once or a little each pay period, off a renter’s statement or through payroll. Never from an employee’s tips.

## Booth and suite rent that collects itself

Set rent for each renter, weekly, every two weeks or monthly. NextUp Walk-in takes it, and you decide what happens on the due date.

- **Off what you owe first.**Rent comes off what the business owes the renter, then from a card or US bank account the renter saves.
- **You decide on the due date.**Charge what is still owed, carry it over, waive it, or mark it paid another way. There is a pay now option too.
- **Reminders and receipts.**Renters get reminders and receipts, and you hear about any payment that fails.
- **No NextUp Walk-in card fee on rent.**Rent from a US bank account carries a lower, capped Stripe fee. Rent taken off a statement has no fee.

**Booth rentPriya S.**$150 weekly · due FriPaid

**Jon K.**$600 monthly · due Nov 1Scheduled

**Alex W.**$150 weekly · due FriCharge or waive

Commission, booth rent and suite rental can sit side by side.

## How it works

- 1

### Pick your provider

Choose Gusto, ADP, QuickBooks Payroll or another, and set each person’s payroll ID.

- 2

### Run the period

Hours, commission and tips fill in from the floor. Fix anything the checks list.

- 3

### Download and import

Take the file to your provider, which runs payroll and taxes.

- 4

### Collect rent

Renters pay on schedule, and you handle anything still owed on the due date.

## Who it’s for

-

### Barbershop

Employees on commission in the payroll file, and a chair renter paying booth rent weekly.

-

### Salon

Stylists on payroll and suite renters on monthly rent, both in one place.

-

### Tattoo studio

Artists who rent a station, with rent taken off what the studio owes them.

## The small things

-

### Hours from the time clock

Payroll reads the shifts your team already clocks.

-

### People who left

Someone you remove stays in the report under their name, marked removed, so you can work out their final pay.

-

### Cash advances

Give a team member an advance and set how it is paid back.

-

### Records, not advice

NextUp Walk-in does not run payroll or give tax advice. It prepares the numbers and files.
