iPads and iPhones print only to AirPrint printers, and most receipt printers are not AirPrint. If your counter is an iPad, check the maker’s spec sheet for AirPrint before you buy, or print from a Mac or PC at the counter.

## How receipt printing worksIncluded on every plan, no extra charge

### What you need

A thermal receipt printer your counter device can already print to through its operating system — for example a printer installed on the computer, on your Wi-Fi network, or paired to the device in its system settings. NextUp Walk-in uses the system print dialog, so your device's own drivers do the talking to the printer; there is no special driver to install for the NextUp app.

Choose 80mm or 58mm paper per location. Both are supported, with a full itemized receipt laid out for that width.

### How it works

- At checkout, a paid bill gets a **Print** button next to text and email receipts.
- Re-open any paid bill later and choose **Reprint** — the copy is marked as a reprint.
- Printing never blocks checkout: if a print fails, the bill is already paid and you can reprint.
- Set paper width and copies (1–3) once per location at **Dashboard → Locations → Receipts**, and run a test print there.

### What's on the receipt

Your shop and location, the date and time, who served the customer, every item with quantity and price, discounts, your sales tax and rate, the total, how it was paid, tip, and cash tendered and change — the same figures as the emailed receipt and PDF, never re-typed or re-added by hand.

### Honest limits, and what's next

- Today, each print goes through the device's print dialog — pick the printer, confirm, done.
- Direct Bluetooth printing without the dialog is planned next, so a paired thermal printer can print straight from the app.
- The printers above are widely sold 80mm thermal models. We haven't tested each one with NextUp Walk-in; if a printer prints from your device's other apps, it prints here.
