# Rebook a client in seconds with Find next available

A client calls to push their appointment back, or a barber runs late and three bookings need to move. On the Pro calendar, a right-click and four steps find the next opening that fits and tell the client by email.

## Moving a booking is usually a hunt

Moving a booking by hand means scrolling the week, checking who is free, remembering the blocked lunch hour, then calling the client back with a time. If the service takes two people or two services in a row, it takes longer still.

Find next available does the hunt for you. It is on Pro, with appointments and online booking, and it lives in the dashboard Calendar.

## Start with a right-click

Right-click a booking, blocked time or empty time on the Calendar and a themed menu opens. On a booking you can open or move it, reschedule it to the next available time, check the client in, mark a no-show when it is due, book them again next week at the same time, copy the details, add it to your own calendar, or cancel (it asks first).

On blocked time you can edit its times and note in place, or delete it. On empty time you can book here, block from here, block the rest of the day, or find the next available time.

## Four steps in one dialog

First, pick the services. Choose one or more; the time it looks for is the total. Second, pick the person: anyone for the first free time across the team, or one person.

Third, the time. You see the next openings grouped by day, and Show later times adds more. When you pick anyone, each time names who has it and how many others are free then, so you can offer the client a choice. Fourth, confirm. The old time sits beside the new one, with who it is with and what for.

Open it from a booking and it moves that booking. Leave Tell them ticked and the client is told the new time by email. You can also reach it from the New booking form, the Next open button in the toolbar, the booking’s Open or move dialog, or by pressing N.

## It follows the same rules as booking

Find next available uses the same availability rules as booking: hours, blocked time, other bookings and crew. A time it offers is not refused when you confirm the move, and the booking you are moving does not block its own time. It looks up to 60 days ahead.

A team member sees only their own openings, so a stylist can move their own client without seeing the rest of the team’s day.

## Who it is for

It is a tool for staff. Online customers still book through your booking page, and Find next available does not book them. It is for the moments when someone on your team is on the phone or at the desk and needs a new time now.

Barbershops, nail salons and pet groomers all have the same moment: a regular who needs a different day. See the [Find next available page](https://nextupwalkin.com/features/find-next-available) for the details, [Calendar and online booking](https://nextupwalkin.com/features/calendar-and-online-booking) for the rest of the Calendar, and the [pricing page](https://nextupwalkin.com/pricing) for what Pro includes. The 14-day trial has every Pro feature.
