## How a Customer Pays

- **Open the payment**The customer opens your pay link or QR code, or pays a booking deposit or an online gift card.
- **Choose Affirm**On Stripe’s secure page, they pick Affirm beside the card options.
- **Sign in to Affirm**They confirm with Affirm, which sets their repayment terms.
- **You are paid**The bill shows as paid and Stripe settles the payment to your Stripe account, less Stripe’s fee.

## What You Do

- An owner turns on “Pay over time (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, Zip, Sunbit)” in the Payment methods table on the dashboard’s Payments page. It is off until they do, and one switch covers all five.
- Stripe has to allow the method for your business too. The table shows Stripe’s answer (Approved, In review or Not approved yet); until Stripe approves it, your pay pages offer only the methods Stripe accepts.
- Affirm needs no hardware and no change to how you ring up a bill.
- If Affirm isn’t approved yet, the table says so and your pay pages offer the methods that are.

## Good to Know

- Affirm appears only when the payment is between $50 and $30,000, so it suits larger bills, packages and gift cards more than a quick service.
- A booking deposit paid with Affirm keeps no card on file for a no-show fee.
- NextUp Walk-in’s card fee is worked out on these payments the same way as on card payments. Stripe’s own fee for them is higher than for cards and is on Stripe’s pricing page.
- Whether a customer is approved, and on what terms, is Affirm’s decision.

## Questions About Affirm

No. Your business is paid in full for the payment, and the customer repays Affirm.

Why does Affirm start at $50?

Who can use Affirm?

Customers in the US paying in US dollars. Affirm decides whether to approve each customer.
